day 16: affirmations to myself

Real time CBT session (the SFW kind of CBT):

  1. I am dreading this task and I don't want to do it. I don't know what I'm doing. I'll do badly on it, anyhow.
  2. I am capable of doing this. I don't know what to do, which means I'm missing something. I need to improve the skill I'm lacking in order to do it. I might do it badly, but that's part of learning.
  3. You can do the task even if you don't feel 100% ready. You can learn while doing the task. You can get it done first and then improve on it later.
  4. You take on tasks that you don't feel ready for. You love to learn by putting yourself outside of your comfort zone. You take difficulty as a fun challenge. You get things done.
