day 16: affirmations to myself
Real time CBT session (the SFW kind of CBT):
- I am dreading this task and I don't want to do it. I don't know what I'm doing. I'll do badly on it, anyhow.
- I am capable of doing this. I don't know what to do, which means I'm missing something. I need to improve the skill I'm lacking in order to do it. I might do it badly, but that's part of learning.
- You can do the task even if you don't feel 100% ready. You can learn while doing the task. You can get it done first and then improve on it later.
- You take on tasks that you don't feel ready for. You love to learn by putting yourself outside of your comfort zone. You take difficulty as a fun challenge. You get things done.
