lucy maybe i wasn't meant to see
it's funny how with all my talk of gouging my eyes out, i picked lucy at the age of 12 or so. i picked her because they gouged her eyes out (looking it up now, it's actually debatable whether or not this even happened). this made her the patron saint of eyes, and i hated how i had terrible eye sight and needed glasses. to 12 year old me, lucy was the obvious choice.
if i could do it over again, maybe i would have picked the little flower. or maybe augustine. augustine probably knew very well the dangers of sight.
